March Madness is in full swing and I’m pumped for the Minnesota Gophers game tonight against UCLA. I’m trying to not get my hopes up too much, since the Gophers have been inconsistent recently, but they did defeat #1 seed Indiana, so there’s always hope. As one analyst said, they could win the whole tournament, or they could lose their first game by 20+ points. I’m hoping they win, though Minnesota sports teams generally are letdowns.
What team, if any, are you cheering for in the tournament?
One of the more interesting things I did over the past week was buy something on Craigslist for the first time. I definitely enjoy the fact that there is so much available to be bought on there, but the communication system seems to be a bit chaotic. I suppose it’s a nature of the beast, but you never really know if something is still available. More times than not it seems furniture ends up being taken within a day or two. Nevertheless, we found the perfect kitchen table and chairs for only $130.

We are having a housewarming party tomorrow and we’ve spent a ton of time prepping for it. Whether it’s installing blinds, curtains, or light fixtures, or planning/prepping food and drinks, or running to Ikea…we’ve done it. The nice thing about all this work, though, is that we’ve made a lot of the smaller changes to our house that we envisioned when we first bought it in October. There’s still many, many, many more things we’d like to do, but I think we’ve covered just about all the “initial” changes.
Tonight I’m heading to a concert, which should be a ton of fun. It’s for the band Bora York, whose new album I gave away in a recent giveaway I hosted (ended yesterday, unfortunately). The concert should be a nice break from all the prep work we put into our house warming party, though it nearly overlaps with the Gophers game :0 Thankfully I should be able to make it to both.

Good looking furniture. I think your Gophers are going to surprise some teams in the tournament. I really like your coach and that’s a program headed in the right direction. Sadly, you’re in the Big Ten, where it seems MOST teams are headed in the right direction. Too bad your Gophers will never be a MICHIGAN STATE! but you can always dream…. ;-)

I don’t have any teams really left to pull for. I was hoping for New Mexico because we are close to them, but no, they got taken out by Harvard! I guess the smart boys got game after all. It seems a bit sacriligious to pull for Louisville. I might as well be for Minnesota.

I like your table! Craigslist is a great place to buy used furniture. I bought my office furniture on there and its amazing!

First craigslist purchase, that’s a milestone. We bought a bunch of our furniture on the list. We’ve also sold a bunch on the same. That’s a nice table and chair set. Have a good weekend!
