SANYO DIGITAL CAMERAWelcome to the Weekly Quick Hits Roundup!

I found this cool picture of some Christmas lights while browsing Flickr. I’ve always liked Christmas lights, probably because my Dad always used to put them up when we were younger and it was fun to take them all out of the box and help him.

Now that I’m a homeowner, I would totally put up lights, except for one big problem: we have no outdoor electrical outlets! I saw an Angie’s List deal to have one installed for only $130 or $150, but I stupidly didn’t purchase it and now the deal is gone. Maybe another one will come around?

Every week I write a weekly wrap-up of things that were going on here at Young Adult Money, a few personal updates/thoughts, and finally a few posts I read this week that I thought were worth sharing.

If you don’t already, please considering Following us on Twitter, Liking us on Facebook, and Following us on Pinterest.

We also have our giveaway roundup every Friday. This Friday there are 173 giveaways listed this week that end today (11/29) through next Thursday (12/5).

Below are the posts we published this week:

  • On Monday I asked Should You Switch Jobs Every Two Years?.
  • On Tuesday Sally shared Four Reasons Why I Love Southwest Airlines. What are your thoughts on Southwest Airlines? Do you have a favorite airline?
  • On Wednesday Cat shared Why You Shouldn’t Skimp on Personal Development.
  • On Thursday said Happy Thanksgiving! to all our readers.

Update Time

  • Thanksgiving – This year I have two Thanksgivings. One with each side of the family. It’s nice when one side is willing to do it on Friday instead of Thursday, as I couldn’t imagine going to two Thanksgivings the same day.

To all my American friends – did you have a good Thanksgiving? What did you do?

  • Weekend – I have another four-day weekend as I am lucky enough to have Thursday and Friday off. I realize that is not the case for many people, so I’m grateful for that. My wife works all day Saturday so I will be busy getting things done so that we can hang out the rest of the weekend.

I hope to either get our Christmas tree, watch Hunger Game’s Catching Fire, or both.

  • Exercise – I haven’t given an update on this for a while, but I have been running approximately 8-10 miles a week, which I think is a good amount. I started to lift again and my body is not amused.
  • Blogging – I’ve started to draft some ideas for my new niche site and I’m excited to start writing posts soon. Before that, though, I plan on getting a few weeks ahead on this blog. I sat down and planned out posts for the next month or so, now I just have to write them. If I can’t even get ahead on this site I have no business starting another site!

Posts of the Week:

If you want to see your post included in this roundup, comment on posts on Young Adult Money throughout the week – that’s where I find blogs/posts to include.

  • Laurie from The Frugal Farmer shared about a recent tragedy in Moving Forward and Being Thankful
  • Michelle from Fit is the New Poor Shared Black Friday Traditions all week long.
  • Charles from Getting a Rich Life talked about his childhood in What I Learned From Growing Up In Government Housing.
  • Erin from Broke Millennial talked about something I strongly agree with in Yes, You Do Need an Emergency Fund (talking to you, indebted millennials).
  • Pauline from Reach Financial Independence gave us an update on her travels in European trip update: Sevilla and Morocco.

____________

How was your week? Do you set up a Christmas tree and/or put up lights outside? Any big plans for December?
